ROADVIEW 9th General Assembly: A Successful Gathering in Tampere, Finland

The 9th ROADVIEW General Assembly took place on 2–3 March 2026 at VTT’s Tampere offices in Finland, bringing together project partners to share progress, discuss next steps and collaborate on the future of automated driving technologies.

On the first day, the assembly kicked off with a project overview and discussions on the status, priorities and goals of the ROADVIEW project. Partners participated in technical sessions covering various aspects of the project including ROADVIEW demonstrations 2 and 3, sensor setups, perception systems, decision-making algorithms and integration efforts. These discussions allowed partners to align on next steps for the final six months of the project.

The second day was the true highlight of the event, as it featured live demonstrations at the VTT Automated VehicleLab and on a closed test track. Participants, including project partners and local external stakeholders, had the opportunity to experience ROADVIEW’s technologies in action onboard two VTT’s automated vehicles with integrated functionalities from and FGI and CRF. The live demos showcased the real-world performance of the advanced systems developed by the ROADVIEW team, providing valuable insights into how these systems operate. Attendees were able to see firsthand how the technology handles critical tasks such as friction prediction, autonomous navigation and decision-making supported by V2X communication in real winter conditions.

Partners left the event with a renewed sense of collaboration and shared enthusiasm for the final phases of testing, including upcoming demos at AVL, Germany. A big thank you to VTT for hosting and all participants for their contributions and continued commitment to the ROADVIEW project!
